In Person Conference

Where the real connections happen

There's something to being in the same room with people who share your craft. Two days of talks, workshops, and the conversations that happen between sessions — what we call the hallway track.

Thursday 15 – Friday 16 October 2026 Belmont Square, Cape Town, South Africa

Venue

Belmont Square Conference Centre

Cape Town

Detailed directions and getting-there instructions will follow closer to the event.

Why in-person matters

You can watch talks online, but you can't replicate bumping into someone at lunch who is working on the exact problem you're trying to solve. Or the late-night session that starts because someone mentioned an interesting project at the coffee break.

We optimise for connection. Nothing beats the hallway track.

What to expect

Talks from the community

Two days of presentations, from beginner-friendly introductions to advanced deep dives. Speakers come from across Africa and beyond, sharing their experiences, projects, and insights.

Hands-on workshops

Sessions where you can dig deeper into specific topics. Designed for people who want to learn by doing.

Open spaces

Some of the best conversations happen in the unstructured time. Open spaces let you organise discussions on whatever interests you — a specific technology, career advice, or just connecting with people working in similar areas.

The hallway track

Conversations by the coffee machine, impromptu debugging sessions, "you should meet this person" introductions. We schedule plenty of breaks and informal time because this is often the most valuable part of the conference.

The practical stuff

Food and refreshments

Lunch both days, plus coffee, tea, and snacks through the day. Good conversations happen over good food.

Swag

Some useful, some fun — designed to help you remember the connections you made.

Venue and logistics

The venue has space for talks, workshops, and the hallway conversations between them.

Who you'll meet

The in-person experience brings together:

  • Python developers from across Africa.
  • International speakers and attendees.
  • Students starting out.
  • Experienced developers willing to share knowledge.
  • Founders and entrepreneurs working on new things.
  • Educators bringing programming to their communities.

It's the mix of perspectives and experience levels that makes the conversations valuable.
