In Person Conference
Where the real connections happen
There's something special about being in the same room with people who share your passion for Python. Join us for two days of learning, connecting, and those spontaneous conversations that happen between sessions - what we call the "hallway track."
Venue
The Wanderers Club
Illovo, Johannesburg, South Africa
Located in the heart of Johannesburg, The Wanderers Club provides an excellent venue for our Beginner's Day workshops. More detailed venue information and directions will be provided to confirmed participants.
Learn more about the venue →Why in-person matters
Sure, you can watch talks online, but you can't replicate the energy of bumping into someone at lunch who's working on exactly the problem you're trying to solve. Or the late-night coding session that starts because someone mentions an interesting project during coffee break.
We're optimizing for connection. Nothing beats the hallway track.
What to expect
Talks from the community
Two days of presentations covering everything from beginner-friendly introductions to advanced deep dives. Our speakers come from across Africa and beyond, sharing their experiences, projects, and insights.
Advanced workshops
Hands-on sessions where you can dig deeper into specific topics. These are designed for people who want to get their hands dirty with code and learn by doing.
Open spaces
Some of the best conversations happen in the unstructured time. Open spaces let you organize discussions about whatever topics interest you - whether that's a specific technology, career advice, or just connecting with people working in similar areas.
The hallway track
This is where the magic happens. Those conversations by the coffee machine, the impromptu debugging sessions, the "hey, you should meet this person" introductions. We've designed our schedule with plenty of breaks and informal time because we know this is often the most valuable part of the conference.
The practical stuff
Food and refreshments
We'll keep you fed with lunch both days, plus coffee, tea, and snacks throughout. Good conversations happen over good food.
Swag and goodies
Of course there's swag. Some useful, some fun, all designed to help you remember the connections you made.
Venue and logistics
We'll be at The Wanderers Club with all the space you need for talks, workshops, and those important hallway conversations.
Who you'll meet
The in-person experience brings together:
